Occasionally, when opening OE6, I see the e-mails in my Inbox, but nothing
shows in the Preview Pane even though an e-mail is highlighted. Selecting
another e-mail doesn't change the display either. The newsreader portion of
the program does the same thing. Rebooting the machine resolves the issue,
until the next time.

Anybody else see this, or know of a cure?

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old
identity and delete it.
