Hi
I have Outlook Express 6 and have windows xp. Everything was OK and running fine until a few hours ago. I tried to access my email in my Inbox and outlook freezes up and I get a message up the top left hand side saying "Outlook Express is not responding". My email downloads from the server but I just cannot read it in my Inbox. All my other folders containing email received from yesterday and beforehand, I can access and read. Anything received today in my Inbox I cannot. I have tried the microsoft help pages but I cannot find anything that seems to address this problem. Would anyone have any ideas to help? Any assistance would be appreciated as I am pretty computer dumb, so if you think you know how to fix the problem, please be kind and keep the explanations very basic. Thanks |

Have you tried rebooting the computer?
Is there an error message when OE is not responding? Does OE open to the Inbox or to the home screen? Is your email account pop3? Is there more than one account? How many messages are in the Inbox? When was the last time that you compacted folders? -- Ronald Sommer "in2travel" wrote in message ... Hi I have Outlook Express 6 and have windows xp. Hello Ronald
Yes I have rebooted. Opens to home screen and account is pop3. Only one account. Approx 25-30 msgs in Inbox - all msgs cleared out regularly. Compacted folders about 1 mth ago. Defragd disk 1 mth ago and disk cleanup 1 day ago. When OE stops responding and the hourglass appears, I cannot click on anything on the page. I can however, go to the X and attempt to close it. I then get the dialogue box which says "This program is not responding" and then I get the "Please tell microsoft about thsi problem" with the buttons to click on send or don't send report. The data of the error report which means nothing to me, but might mean something to someone else - szAppName : msimn.exe szAppVer : 6.0.2900.5512 szModName : hungapp szModVer : 0.0.0.0 Offset : 00000000 Error report content C:\DOCUME~1\VICKIP\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf967.dir00\msi mn.exe.mdmp C:\DOCUME~1\VICKIP\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf967.dir00\app compat.txt Any suggestions? Thanks |
