Default java and ie

i have been experiencing an i.e. problem for the last couple of months now. i
subscribe to an online stock quotes system and it uses java to run its web
based programs. i have had tech difficulty for months and the service's tech
dept. says it's not their fault. i have noticed that i.e. faulters with other
websites too. i am wondering wether it's java or whether i.e. is faulty in
someway. i know i know...there are numerous possibilities but i really would
like to have a problem free browser again. anyone who can offer some help i
would appreciate it.

Sorry, but "tech difficulties" does not provide sufficient information for
anyone to help you.

Sun Java or Microsoft Virtual Machine (VM)?
Java or JavaScript? They are entirely different things.
Based on the knowledge level demonstrated in your post I would recommend
taking it to a local professional (not a chain store) and explaining your
problem.
