Just an FYI. I have tried everything in PowerPoint, checked my PC settings,
etc:, to no avail. I downloaded openoffice.org 3.0 and they all have their
sound back. It must be something in PowerPoint 2003. I tried to download
PowerPoint 2007, but it won't run in XP with SP2. I'm not about to
download SP3, did that once on my old PC and had a total nightmare.
Guess I will just have to either live without sound if I use PP or switch to
OpenOffice.

Just an FYI from me.

I installed PPV 2007 with SP2 with no problem. You don't need SP3 to install
it. Perhaps your anti-virus was running when you tried to install it?

SP2 will no longer be supported after April 2010. SP3 will be supported
until April, 2014.

If SP3 was downloaded with an anti-virus, or anti-spyware, program running,
you may have a bad installation.

files from being changed, SP3 installation might fail. Try temporarily
disabling your antivirus software. You can usually do this by right-clicking

Remove PPV 2003 first. Reboot and then install PPV 2007 with your AV off.
You /may/ need this when you're done if attachments in e-mails do not open
PPV when clicked on.
