Default OE6 and PPS files-sound

Downloaded the "thesimplelife.pps" file and still no sound.

Thanks again.

Is this the one you speak of?

There is no sound. It is a You Tube issue.

Go here and download this.
http://files.filefront.com/Thesimple.../fileinfo.html

Choose Save and save it to the Desktop. Does it play for you? If so, you
have no issue with PPS files. It is just the ones you have that are no
good.

Here is one link to YouTube that I have been able to play for over two
years now and all of a sudden there is no sound.
YouTube - Merry Christmas from (mf)

Example of a PPS file. Found on the internet "thesimplelife.pps" great
slide show and the sound was beautiful, but can no longer play it.

I know you are busy so if and when you have time to take a look.

Thanks

I understand. I wanted to see if the sound was still there before they
were saved. There is no reason you should have to save them first to open
them, but if you would rather do that, it's your prerogative.

Do you have the speaker icon in the SysTray? Double click on it. Any of
the volume sliders all the way down?

Thanks Bruce:

I don't have a problem with opening the files after saving them to my
HHD. They open fine with PPT viewer. It's the sound that is now
missing.

Thanks again

And what if you actually open them in OE?

1: Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With |
Choose Program. Find and choose a program that works, (PowerPoint
Viewer). and then check the box: Always use this program to open this
kind of file. This should enable you to open these attachments in the
future.

2: Unable to open .PPS attachments directly from Outlook Express using
XP/SP2 or XP/SP3:

The problem with viewing PPS files in OE6 was resolved by copying
them to hard drive. However, I can no get sound on my PPS files.
Anyone have any suggestions or could it have been caused with a
windows update ? I have tried everything.

Thanks
