I have received an email with an MHT attachment. (I think when I opened the
email it said.eml) I printed the attachemnt and then replied to say that it had arrived. The next time I opened the email the attachment had dissappeared! In Outlook it says that there is an attachemnt (paper clip), but when I open the email there is no sign of it and the File / Save attachment option is greyed out. This is the second time this has happened. The last time I forwarded the message and the attachment disappeared from the message although OE says it is still there. Verison is OE 6.00.2900.5512 |

There is no way to remove an attachment in a received message in OE
other than manually editing the message outside of OE and then replacing the original message with that. I doubt that's what happened. The only other thing that would cause attachments to be there one time and gone the next would be changing the Read All Messages In Plain Text setting (Tools, Options, Read). With that optioned enabled, an HTML format mail will show an HTML attachment as well as any embedded images or background music. With that option off, they are just displayed. As for forwarding messages, If the "attachments" were embedded images in an HTML format message, then you need to set Tools, Options, Send, Mail HTML Settings, Send Pictures, -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Gleam" wrote in message ... Thank you for the suggestions. I have tried the read option and there are now
two attachments - one the message itself and the other a logo used in the message. But the proper attachment is still missing. Could it be something to do with my virus scanner? That's about the only thing that I can think of. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and make sure email scanning is disabled in whatever AV product you use. steve "Gleam" wrote in message ... Thank you for the suggestions. The virus scanner could certainly remove an attachment while
downloading. But once a message is downloaded and you saw in Outlook Express, I would be surprised that it could be removed. Is it possible that you first looked at the message using web mail where you saw the attachment and then downloaded it to OE and saw that the attachment was missing? That could certainly happen. In that case it could have been removed during download. Or it could be this issue: See the MS-TNEF WINMAIL.DAT Attachments section of Decoding Internet Attachments - A Tutorial http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_san...de.htm#ms-tnef -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Gleam" wrote in message ...
