Default Blocked senders list

This was asked and answered in another group. If you feel you must post to
more than one group, please do not multi-post. Crosspost instead via New
Post | Tools | Select Newsgroups. This way if a post is replied to in one
group, it will also be replied to in the other group(s).

But even crossposting is seldom necessary since those of us that check
posts, do so in more tan one newsgroup.

I receive multiple spam from the same source but the only thing different
is
their names. For eg and I've
tried
in my blocked senders list to block all incoming mail with the doman
'verizon.net' but it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? I also
have
a rule going where anyone who is not in my addressbook, the mail goes
straight to my Delete folder. Is this in conflict with my blocked
senders'
list? Would appreciate any help/hints out there!

Thank you.

OK, Bruce, I do not subscribe to this "other" group but am interested in the
answer. Can you at least post the message ID to the post in the "other"
group so that others may benefit from the information or would you rather
someone else ask the same question in a new post?

TIA,

Marty

Default Blocked senders list

It was in OE General and answered two hours before this one was posted.
Here's the reply.

The rule should have no effect on the Blocked Sender list. What I don't
understand is how that spam gets into your Inbox without being in your
Address Book.

I tend to stay away from Blocked Senders and just use rules. Make one for
Verizon.

Where the From line contains people
Delete it from server
Click on People and add @verizon.net

Note that unless the box is grayed out, you should always check Stop
processing more rules along with the other action of the rule. This includes
your Address Book rule.

Rules must also be in a logical order. i.e. all rules that move mail to a
specific folder should be at the top of the rules list.
