The other day, I had my OE open, my hand on the mouse and reached up with the
other hand to wipe off my screen. Big zap of static electricity ran through the mouse and, of course, killed the cursor. I closed everything out using the keyboard, and rebooted the system. Cursor came back and mouse seems to be working properly, but now there are certain emails that I cannot delete. If I try to move them, it says an error occurred with the file, but doesn't tell me what error. I've uninstalled and re-installed OE, but still have the problem. My Inbox is growing by leaps and bounds because it won't let me delete certain emails from certain individuals (PLEASE don't tell any spammers about this!!!!). Any ideas???? Thanks! Margaret |

In reading some of the answers to other problems in this forum, I found a
solution to mine. I deleted the inbox.dbx file in C:\Documents and Settings\My Name \Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{7651F66E-D62E-4EC6-A8E4-1DF1754E6B7B}\Microsoft\Outlook Express folder and the program recreated the inbox upon reopening the program. This removed all the emails I wanted to remove along with some I wanted to keep, but that was my fault for not moving them to another folder in the first place. In order to delete files from my other folders that the system won't allow me to delete, I have to create a new folder, move the "keepers" to that one, then delete the old folder with the undelteable messages, then I can rename the new folder to the old folder's name and my message rules will still fire properly. I hope this answer helps others who might have this same problem. Hi Margaret,
If you have not already done so, delete the Deleted Items.dbx file in the OE message store. This will likely allow messages to be deleted normally again. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "Margaret" wrote in message ...
