MS Automatic Update keeps offering me updates for Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail
Filter. Is this needed if I only have OE6 and not Outlook? Does OE have a
junk email filter?

Is Outlook 2003 on your machine? If you don't use it, you can uninstall it
and you won't be offered the updates. Or, you can just check to hide the
updates when offered.

Outlook is not on my machine. OE6 is. I am offered the Outlook 2003 Junk
E-mail Filter updates regularly.

Outlook 2003 comes with Office 2003. Is Office on your machine? Outlook must
be as well. MS doesn't offer updates for a program you don't have.

Outlook 2003 comes with Office 2003. Is Office on your machine? Outlook must
be as well. MS doesn't offer updates for a program you don't have.

You may not use it, but Outlook 2003 is installed. I recommend that your
Remove it from your current install of Office 2003 if you don't use it *or*
its Calendaring function.

No, OE does not have a junk mail filter.

Where might Outlook 2003 be hiding...? It does not show up in any of the
following:

1) Search

2) C:\Programs

3) Belarc Advisor

4) Control PanelAdd or Remove ProgramsAdd or RemoveWindows
ComponentsWindows Components Wizard
[OE does show up.]

5) C:\Documents and Settings\Janet\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{3C41A81F-DD15-404F-8637-1C5C82535F1C}\etc....
[This is where my OE is.]

In the MS Office 2003 Setup window, it says to select the apps you want to
install and deselect the apps you want to remove. It opened with the items I
believe I have installed already selected:
Word
Excel
PP
Publisher.

UNCHECKED items a
Outlook
Access
InfoPath

As mentioned earlier, I cannot find anything in my Office folders that give
a hint of Outlook. Where would the files be located?
