Bruce- When I get home from work I will try this and let you know what
happens. Thanks "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Delete the Master account and reboot for starters. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Nate" wrote in message ... Thanks for the replys. There are 3 identities set up, a master account, My name and then my wifes name. The master account is never used and was never renamed, just something time warner set us up with and then when I called them a few years ago for help with e-mail they had me set up one for my name and her name. If I switch identities from my name Nathan to her's Kelly it never works. If I switch from her identity Kelly and then to mine Nathan it "sometimes works" maybe once out of 5 times. But yes outlook dissapears after trying switch identities and I cant access outlook again unless I end the process then I can get back in. "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: See Bruce's reply. Does anyone use this "Master Account" identity? Is your identity or your wife's identity named "Main Identity" or was one of them originally named "Main Identity" and you renamed it? Nate wrote: One of my identities is Master Account which time warner cable set up when they installed the roadrunner and set up e-mail a few years ago. I have my own identity and my wife has her own. I went ahead and reinstalled the sp3 and turned off my firewall and anti virus but unfortunately it's still doing it. When I uninstalled sp3 and it went back to sp2 I went into outlook to see if it would do it and it was doing it with sp2 as well, couldn't switch identities. It's driving me crazy, any more ideas? "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: What Bruce said. OE File | Identities | Manage Identities: Is one of your identities named Main Identity, Nate? Nate wrote: I am operating on IE 7 xp media center edition sevice pack 3. Ever since I updated my computer to the serivce pack 3 yesterday it won't let me switch identities. Everytime I do so, outlook dissapears and I get this message. Outlook Express could not be started because another instance of it is still running on your computer. Please log off windows and then restart Outlook Express. If the problem persists, save your work, and then restart your computer. At this time I then to ctr, alt, del and end the process of MSIMN.EXE and then when I click on outlook express it will allow me to get back in. Any ideas so I don't have to end this process everytime I switch identities? thanks! |

Create two new identities. Can you switch between them? If so, import the
messages into the respective new identities and delete the old ones after you are sure you have everything you need. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Nate" wrote in message ... I created a new identity but I think I did something wrong or left something
out. When I go the new identity it stays on authorizing in the bottom right hand corner and then a box shows up to enter username and password which is already pulled up and I hit ok and it keeps coming up. I then have to hit cancel and I get the following message. There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Ok I created the 2 new identities successfully. When I try to switch users
between the 2 new ones it is doing the same thing. I just created identity # 3 and identity #4, when I try to switch from 3 to 4 and 4 to 3 it is doing the same thing.
