I've got a new company laptop with a customised windows build that somehow
blanks out OE6 (company uses Lotus Notes for email). My last PC was the same, except it didn't have SP2 when I got it so I managed to install OE6 using the reinstall procedure http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/EN-US/ . I used the OE6 to manage my personal email and it coexisted fine with Notes. When I tried installed OE6 on the new machine, the regedit procedure no longer works (I get the error about setup detecting a newer version). I can't find a way to uninstall SP2 either (I think it's included in the windows build). So I can't find a way to install/activate OE6 at all! Any ideas? Is OE6 available as a standalone install? |

Try Start/All Programs/Set Program Access and Defaults. Then click on
Add/Remove Windows Components and add Outlook Express. See if that does it for you. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. If it's a company owned laptop, you may be out of luck since it has been
most likely "syspreped" by the IT staff at your place of employment. You would have to contact your employer for help with adding anything to the system. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
