1. Export both Address Books via Address Book: File | Export | Address Book
(WAB). You will end up with two (2) WAB files; e.g., JOE.WAB and MARY.WAB. 2. Place a copy of each WAB file on the desktop of the new computer, right-click on each file, select Properties & remove any Read-Only attribute the file may have. 3. Before adding any contacts whatsoever to your brand-new Address Book, import both WAB files via Address Book: File | Import | Address Book (WAB), pointing the wizard to each desktop file, in turn. NB: Beware of dupes! NB: You may find that any Address Book Folders or Groups will neither export nor import. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 L.S. wrote: win xp home, OE 6.x Have two systems with seperate address books. Follow up ???.
We're thinking about adding/combining our books on each of our existing systems. Sometimes she ask me to send an e-mail for her off my system and I won't have the address. Also, some of our family, friends, etc. have changed address' through the years and we need to update. If we end up with dupes, I think, again, it would be easier to delete than trying to manually add an address. Since these are active, I don't want to 'play' with finding a solution and mess things up. Yes- I've backed up the wab's. ![]() that, me included. Will your instructions be the same or is there something I should watch out for? Note: We are networked here at office. L. "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ... YW & thanks for your feedback. In this situation, you'd want to use a Standalone Address Book (SAB). See
