Problems inserting pictures

When I open the window to insert a picture, it opens to browse just fine, but once I find the picture I want, I have to double click the picture to select it, clicking on open doesn't work. THEN when I get back to the insert window and click ok, it inserts the picture, but the window doesn't go away. I can click ok over and over, and it inserts the picture over and over, and the cancel button doesn't work. It worked find the earlier. I've reinstalled Outlook and IE, rebooted, etc, etc, etc and it still happens. What can I do to fix this? Amanda
