Just found this. I guess this will be unattainable till we upgrade to
Exchange 2007. http://www.experts-exchange.com/Soft..._22121086.html "Zachary" wrote in message ... We have Exchange 2003 with Outlook 07. Right now I have the default permissions set to custom on the resource calendars. I have read set to none, but I have the free/busy time set to publish out 12 months. I have the write settings checked for create items and edit own and delete items set to own. In the other settings group I have folder visible checked. These seem like the appropriate settings but once I try to book the resource I get this message: "You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. se the folder contact or your system administrator. Unable to directly book a resource for this meeting." Now I know if I change one setting, I can get this to work but then too much is visible. If I change the default permissions on the read portion to full details, then I can book the resource. That's because that one option bumps the level of permissions from Custom to Author. This is too much since the users can read the meeting details. Is there something I am missing? "Roady [MVP]" t wrote in message ... With Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007 or later, you can set the permissions to Free/Busy time only. Otherwise, restrict access to the folder and they would only be able to see Free/Busy times via the scheduler. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Zachary" wrote in message ... I have three conference rooms setup as resources and they are set to auto accept, auto delete, and auto decline conflicts. This works great, but I want to make it so anyone can auto book the rooms, but not be able to read what others have booked. I want the users to see that the room is booked, but they wouldn't be able to see who or why the room is booked while still preserving the ability to book the room for themselves if its open. Is this possible? |
