I'm trying to install the hotfix described in KB968858 - part of what
this hotfix does is allow Outlook 2007 to check Subject Alternative Names in a certificate (which is what we are doing for our Exchange 2010 install). Every time I run the exe, I get a vague "the installation failed" and nothing in the event log. My Office 2007 is only at SP1 (a requirement for the hotfix). I've tried searching thru the descriptions of all the other office updates that are installed, but none seem to list this particular hotfix. Can someone tell me if it is included in another update for Office 2007? - RAM |

Yes, apply Service Pack 2 for Office 2007 and the updates that came out
after that. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "RAM" wrote in message ... Is the hotfix described in KB96885 included in some other update? Is that why the install fails? The prerequisites only list Office 2007 SP1. But your response sparks another question: should I make sure all my Outlook 2007 clients are running Office 2007 SP2 in preparation for our move to Exchange 2010? |

Hotfixes normally are not included in any other updates, as they are
specific fixes for specific problems on only a few computers. "RAM" wrote in message ...
