Hello Folks,
I hope this isn't a question that has been asked too many times, but I hope someone can help. I use outlook 2003 and an IPAQ with active sync the OS is XP Pro. For various reasons I've had software problems on both machines and the IPAQ and outlook are now impossibly out of sync. The data on the IPAQ is the data I want to retain. Is there a way to uninstall Outlook delete all the data then reinstall. This should then allow me to resync with the IPAQ and all will be well again. Regards Mike Abbott. |

Make sure your partnership specifies that the data on the PDA replaced the data on the desktop. Is there a way to uninstall Outlook delete all the data then reinstall. You don't have to uninstall to delete all the data. It would help to know whether you're syncing with a PST or with an Exchange mailbox because it's a tad easier to start afresh with a PST. FileNewOutlook Data File. Create the new PST and set it to be your delivery location. Stop and restart Outlook. All done. This should then allow me to resync with the IPAQ and all will be well again. Before doing anything with Outlook, I'd delete the old PDA partnership and create a new one, making sure the sync options are correctly specified to prevent the desktop from overwriting the PDA. In fact, I'd create the partnership so that no syncing occurs at all and make a backup of the PDA first so that if something goes wrong, I can restore the PDA. I'd also use any backup program the PDA contains on its own, just to be safe. Then I'd enable syncing and let the PDA data replace the desktop data. -- Brian Tillman -- Brian Tillman |
