Earlier today I had left my laptop on, with several applications open
(Outlook 2000, word 2000, IE 6), but with the lid closed, meaning that the system goes to sleep. When I went to use the laptop later today it would not restart and I had to turn the machine off. I've had the machine for 4 months and this has not happened before. After rebooting I went to check my emails, but Outlook 2000 would not load. I then got the message below from XP Home "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Send Error Report/Don't Send" I tried loading several times to no avail. I then rebooted several times to no avail. I then rebooted in "Safe Mode" to no avail. I then rebooted and tried to fix the problem with my Office 2000 - SB-1 disk. I tried the fix errors method and this did not work. I rebooted and did a system restore, this also did not work. I have also run my virus control; Spybot and Ad-Aware SE. None of this has helped. I tried Microsoft's site with the error message and they say I have to upgrade to Office 2003. Can anyone help me? thanks Greg |

You said you tried to fix the error but you did not mention the method. May
we presume you tried both Help-Detect and Repair AND the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe)? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
