While Milly's advice will allow you to recover your mail, rules, contacts, and so on, it will do nothing for your mail accounts. I have networked the 2 together so I can see the old ones drives.... You said you had a crash. If the old PC is still up and running well enough to be able to perform networking operations, then you did NOT have a crash. If you're using Office XP or 2003, you can use the Office Save My Settings wizard (under Microsoft Office Tools in the Programs menu) to save your account settings and transfer them to the other machine. However, if the old machine is running well enough to share its drive on your network, then I simply don't see the problem with the old machine. -- Brian Tillman |

I had to go back to the Hewlitt Packards intial software during a restore
without losing any data... But OUTLOOK is not running and I only have one copy and I put it on my new PC. I found the PST file and copied it over to the new pc. So I can't do anything with outlook on the old one? Should I just load the PST file on the new computer... but it gives me lots of errors... Plugin errors and such... The rules are there but but added lot of (on another machine) to the rules and none work (I don't think) Plus none of the email accounts are there... Thanks.... "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... The accounts are held in the registry, since you, I believe, restored your
old PC you have now lost these settings The pst contains data, ie mail calender, contacts It doesnt contain rules, nor does it contain plugins. If you have plugin errors when opening OL, they are installation errors caused when setting up OL and or whatever apps have the OL plugins Assuming OL is on the new PC and you have either created a new pst, or opened the old pst what exactly are the errors? In recent versions the PST file does contain rules. They do need to be
reset, however, if the PST file is migrated to another installation. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ...
