Default Switching from OE to Outlook

I have been using Outlook Express and I am thinking of switching over to
Outlook. I would like to know the best way to export all my data from
outlook express into outlook.such as, emails, address book, folders etc.
thanks

Outlook can import settings and mail from OE. When you install Outlook
it will probably ask you if you want to import something from another
program.

But you DON'T want to do that, as it alters the modified date to the date of
import. You want to export from OE instead.

When you install Outlook, if it asks if you want to import, say No. After
properly installing Outlook, open it and click FileImport and ExportImport
Internet Mail Account Settings to pull in your account from OE. Then use
FileImport and ExportImport Internet Mail and Address, but do NOT import
mail. Import only your contacts and rules. Finally, in OUtlook Express,
click FileExportMessages to move your messages to Outlook. Using Outlook
Express to export your messages to Outlook preserves their received dates.
Importing them with Outlook would probably reset the dates to the date and
time of import.
