Default deleting permanently quickly

How can I quickly delete chunks from my deleted folder but not everything
without going trough each item laboriously

Aloha Dermot,

Select the first item in the "chunk", hold down the SHIFT key, click the
last item in the "chunk" and press delete.

Default deleting permanently quickly

Holding down CTRL while clicking items works if you only need to select
one item every so often.

You can also you a combination of Shift and CTRL to select multiple
"chunks".
