Default Increasing dowload speed in a dial up network

Hi Blogs,

Can some one help me on how I could possibly increase my download speed
while connected in a dial up environment. Apart from upgrading my modem or
changing the configs... what other possible areas am I supposed to look at to
improve my speed.... ?

Ask in a networking newsgroup like
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...xp.network_web
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...000.networking
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...n98.networking
(whichever is appropriate to your Windows version).
Upgrading your modem may be an extremely cheap choice, considering good
modems can be had for US $10.
