Default how to stop Outlook from retrieving same messager over & over

Everytime Outlook checks the server it downloads every message on server.
This is not a server problem. Everything works fine on my portable with
Outlook Express.

how often are you checking for new email? set it for at least 10 min. Are
you leaving mail on the server?

It is set for 10 minutes and yes I am leaving mail on the server so that I
can also check it at home or on the road on my laptop. Until recently, like
in the last month, this has never been a problem.

Now, it is a big problem
