Default Encoded Subject?

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the very quick response.

Is this some form of encryption?

Colin.

| Hi,
|
| I use Outlook 2003.
|
| I received a message with the following subject: Become a member and you
| could win £2500!
|
| As this e-Mail evaded my anti-spam rules, I checked the message header
and
| found the subject to be:
|
| Subject:
|
=?Windows-1252?B?QmVjb21lIGEgbWVtYmVyIGFuZCB5b3UgY291bGQgd2l uIKMyNTAwIQ==?=
|
| The only part of this I recognise is the character set identifier
| Windows-1252.
|
| Can anyone tell me how the subject in the message header and the subject
| displayed in my inbox are different?
|
| Thanks.

It's a different Latin character code page.
