Did you get the Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail update? I removed it and all is fine.

I then restarted the machine, just in case, but OL07b was still broken. So I had to resort to a System Restore, which fixed everything. |

I had the problem and I "upgraded" OL03 to OL07b. I wonder if the problem doesn't affect those who did a clean install (or who uninstalled previous versions of office first)? |

I received the same error this morning. The only way to fix the issue
that I found was to use the Office 07 repair utility under Add/Remove Programs. Richard Andrew Wiseman wrote: "Jeff" wrote in message news:GERjg.38850$771.29760@edtnps89... I had a similar problem. After putting on the security updates last night,
Outlook 2007 Beta would not open correctly, showing this error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." I am running IE7 Beta and Microsoft Office 2007 Beta. In Add or Remove Programs, I uninstalled these patches: 917334 Word, 917953 TCP/IP, restart 918439 ART Image Rendering, 911280 Routing and Remote Access, restart 914389 SMB restart But none of that fixed it. I then ran System Restore to a System Checkpoint from 6-12 and that fixed it. I think it has something to do with the recent updates. But I have never updated the Junk Email Filter, and it did not appear in Add/Remove Programs, so I don't think it updated automatically. I also got my system back by restoring it to a point prior to the updates. I
then went and read the update descriptions and tried again by leaving the Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail filter update off and the other 7 my system called for; KB905474 KB914389 KB911280 KB917334 KB890830 KB917953 KB916518 KB918439 Some of these are for Office 2003 applications. Everything seems to run but I haven't got to use each of them them extensively. -- Sam "sbowne" wrote: I had a similar problem. Then once the window had opened, I got "The file ExSec32.dll is incompatible with Microsoft Office Outlook. Install Outlook again." Windows then requests an error report is sent to Microsoft and closes the application. :-( |
