So get this - not only do you have to not be running Outlook Express to get
your email in Outlook 2003, but the default setting my OL2003 came with was
set to not collect mail at all. You need to go into email settings and tell
it to collect your email periodically. Wow.

Not true. Outlook and Outlook Express coexist quite nicely. You can even
access the same mail servers with them.

That's true for most of the mail clients I can think of.
