I use Outlook 2003 on both desktop & laptop computers. I want to copy the
laptop PST file file use on the desktop but continue it's use on the laptop.
How do I do this? (I downloaded MSoft's backup plugin but it is not
working - no backup choice on the file menu). MSoft's instructions on doing
this are confusing to me.

Just copy the PST (with Outlook closed) to the other machine and open it
there.

Try to add it manually. ToolsOptionsOtherAdvanced OptionsCOM
AddInsAdd. Browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Addins,
select outbak.dll, and click OK until you are out of all dialogue boxes.
Stop and restart Outlook.

I tried to copy it (with Outlook closed). I get the following error message
when trying to do the paste:

"Cannot copy Outlook: The Process cannot access the file because another
process has locked a portion of the file."

It appears that Outlook (or some other product that interfaces to Outlook or
is a MAPI client) is still running. Log out and back in again, holding the
Shift key down while you do so that nothing in your Startup areas starts and
then try to copy it.

I rebooted and was able to copy it before running Outlook. All is okay now.
