http://radio.weblogs.com/0106046/sto...sProblems.html hope this helps. "Jim Walsh" wrote: Outlook 2003. One of my users is getting the following error message when he clicks on the Send/Receive button: "You don't have appropriate permissions to perform this operation." He has two e-mail accounts set up (as we all do). One is an IMAP setup to the University e-mail server. The other is an Exchange Server account to a server in our local college domain. He can select the Inbox of either account, and then do Send/Receive ..."This folder" without error. Furthermore, the periodic Send/Receive on both boxes works without errors. If he attempts to select Send/Receive...Send/Recieve Settings...Define Send/Receive groups, he gets the same error message about not having "appropriate permissions". His account has administrative privileges on his own machine. Thanks in advance for help. Jim |

Katt,
Thanks for your suggestion. I looked at the article you mention, and the KB article that it references. And, tried running the DCOMCNFG utility. But, in WinXP, that utility seems to be much different than in Win2K. I am not able to follow the instructions. Do you know of a comparable WinXP article? Jim "Katt" wrote in message ...
