Hello.
When i open a certain email in Outlook 2003, i get the attached message. I followed the instructions in article id: 816702 and it still gives the same message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony --------------------------- Microsoft Internet Explorer --------------------------- Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. Keep reducing until you have none and if the error continues either your version may not support those controls, or there is an error in the code. |

Hello Alan.
I tried reducing security to the lowest level and still get the same message. I'm not sure of what you mean by your version may not support those controls, or there is an error in the code Thanks, Tony "Alan" wrote in message ... "Tony Girgenti" wrote in message ... Hello. In general, mail is opened in the Restricted web security zone. That zone, apparently, is configured to disallow ActiveX controls. You can either open your mail in a zone that allows ActiveX or you can change the Restricted zone settings. -- Brian Tillman |

Same problem as a lot of people, it seems ....
1) How do you 'open your mail in a zone that allows ActiveX ' and what are the implications of that? 2) What are the implications of lowering the settings for the Restricted zone (assuming that that solves the problem)? What other problems might then result? "Brian Tillman" wrote: Tony Girgenti wrote: When i open a certain email in Outlook 2003, i get the attached message. The implications are that you could receive an HTML message containing malicious ActiveX and allow it to run. 2) What are the implications of lowering the settings for the Restricted zone (assuming that that solves the problem)? What other problems might then result? The implications are the same. I've had some luck adding the string "about:internet" to my Restricted zone. -- Brian Tillman |
