I have Outlook 2002, SP2.
Should I upgrade to Outlook 2007? Or should I just go to 2003? Is so where do I get the upgrade? Thanks. Best regards, JAF http://www.bscinc.net http://www.affordablefloridainsurance.com http://www.discountdrivingschool.com |

Outlook 2007 is still in beta and not available for upgrade. No version of
Outlook comes in an upgrade edition. As to whether you should or not, it depends on your needs and whether the 2007 version offers compelling features that YOU want. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Thanks for such a quick response.
Since I have OL 2002, is there any reason to go to OL 2003, or should I just wait for the 2007 version? I just started with Outlook, and like it a lot. The version I have seems to have most of what I need. I am a one person business, so I need contact management, mail merge, email, etc., but not much else at the present time. Thanks again for the post. On Fri, 8 Sep 2006 18:05:17 -0700, "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: Outlook 2007 is still in beta and not available for upgrade. If you are currently satisfied with 2002, I'd stay with it until 2007 is
released early next year. One thing you want to look at though is how best to upgrade cost-wise. Pricing for 2007 is already available, so you should be able to figure out what's best for you. Outlook 2003 is hugely better than any previous version of Outlook.
Reportely, because 2003 was a huge major revision, Outlook in Office 2007 will be almost unchanged. It's the only Office module that is not undergoing major changes with a totally new user interface. Note that Office 2007 "Home Edition" (was called the "Student & Teachers" Edition in 2003) will not include Outlook at all, which I view as a major mistake. Outlook 2007 has had scads of changes and everything except the main Outlook
window will use the ribbon. I don't know where you heard that Outlook is unchanged but that information is incorrect. In fact, the Office team spent the most time on updates to Outlook out of all the Office programs. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
