I migrated a few months ago from using Outlook as a standalone client to
using it with an Exchange server. I had to remove over half of my rules because of the 32k characters limit for rules. I have put up with manual sorting of email for too long now. Are there any good add-ins that overcome this 32k limit. I don't care if all the rules have to run on client-side. The main functionality I am looking for is moving messages to other folders based on sender, receiver, or subject text. Is this 32k limit removed or extended in Outlook 2007. |

The limit is not in Outlook but on the Exchange server. Exchagne 2007 will increase it to a maximum of 256kb, set by the administrator. See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto.htm for addins -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "jdk009" wrote in message ... You could change your delivery location to a PST, but then you'd lose many of the features of Exchange. If you need to share any of your folders, for example, this isn't a viable option. I am not familiar with how to set up Outlook to deliver mail to a .pst for an
Exchange account. Is this documented somewhere? "Brian Tillman" wrote: jdk009 wrote: Are there any good add-ins that overcome this 32k limit. I don't care if all the rules have to run on client-side. However, create the PST (FileNewOutlook Data File), then click ToolsE-mail AccountsNext and choose the PST in the "Delivery new e-mail to the following location" drop-down at the bottom left. Stop and restart Outlook. Everything will be sucked off the Exchange server to the PST. -- Brian Tillman |
