I have been trying to add this users account to Outlook 2003, but it keeps
hanging on the Migrating Account Settings page. Sometimes that message doesn't even come up. They have an old POP3 account, so I setup a new profile. They are using SBS 2003. Other users are fine. I have done the following: 1) Created multiple new profiles 2) Tried RPC over HTTP 3) Renamed Outlook folder in D&S\App\MS\Outlook 4) Made sure server was default DNS 5) Can ping the server 6) Reinstalled Outlook 7) Installed SP1 for Office 8) Ran all Outlook patches 9) Changed protocol string in registry 10) Tried clients settings on different PC, and it works fine. 11) Change client's password 12) Client is using XP, disabled Firewall 13) Tried Safe Mode 14) Created a profile for me, and it doesn't work either 15) Old profile for POP3 still works fine. 16) Ran Detect and Repair 17) Running out of options Any ideas? This is a tough one! Al |

Al,
Perhaps the issue is not with Outlook directly it could be a communication/network issues slowness. I would also do a new install of Outlook and not just a Detect and Repair. Since your profile is not working either I would think it the application itself or other or perhaps a third party tool being used. See #6. There are no third party tools being used and I can ping and used
mapped drives on the server fine. Everyone else is perfect. Al "Francine Otterson [MVP - Outlook]" wrote in message ... No errors in the event viewer and no error boxes. Just sits there for an
hour, and I have to Task Man to kill it. Al "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" ahoo.com wrote in message ... If you're using roaming profiles, make sure you do this while logged in as the user - then log out, and log back in again to make sure that's saved properly. (And make sure the user is *not* logged in on any other computer!) Delete any old OST file you see in his/her documents & settings\username\local settings\application data\blahblahblah folder. Then create a brand new profile, using *only* the Exchange server, and cached mode (no Internet mail account). Test to see if this works. Al "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" ahoo.com wrote in message ...
