Default Help with deactivating POP Server Timeout notifications

Is there a way in MS Outlook to turn off annoying server timeout
notifications that can occur occasionally when there are POP server
problems?

It's very annoying when Outlook forces you to acknowledge a timeout
notification even though one may be working in an unrelated window and
application.

Thanks for any advice.

PS: I have the server timeout set to maximum - 10 minutes and I still
occasionally get time outs.
