I created an outlook Template in MS Outlook 97 and now our PCs have
been upgraded to Outlook 2003. I can still open the template and use it without any problem but there is one user who could not see the 'forms' I created. When she opens the .oft file, it only opens as a regular blank email message. The template has form built-in the message area. But, she could not see the form at all. Does anyone know why this is happening? I checked with another user and he was able to open the template okay. I checked to see if it's due to her outlook preferences, but so far she and I have the same preferences. Although when she sent me a screen capture of her Outlook, the toolbars are different than mine. I verified that we are both running the same version of Outlook. I hope I explain this properly. Thank you, Sharon |

Beginning with Outlook 2003 SP2, users can work with most .oft form templates files only by opening the template from the Tools | Forms | Choose Form dialog, browsing for User Templates in File System. This means that if the .oft file is sent as a message attachment, the user must save it to the local hard drive first.
The article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=907985 explains this change in more detail, suggests best practices, and provides registry keys that can return Outlook 2003 to the older, less secure behavior. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx wrote in message oups.com... Thanks Sue. We tried it the long way (via Tools menu) and she's able
to see it now. |
