Removing Icon in Icon tray
How do you prevent the outlook icon from residing in the icon tray? I have
unchecked "hide when minimized" option (right click on icon in icon tray). Thanks Bob

Windows XP? You can tell windows to always hide it. If it's the new mail

Removing Icon in Icon tray
If you mean the Notification Area on the right, you can right click the icon
