Default Office 12 Beta Apps- cost $1.50 each

I just went to the Office 2007 download area, logged in etc and saw:
" Select each product you wish to download for a download service fee of
$1.50 each " and expires in Feb 2007

The TR1 download won't do any good if you can't get Office 2007 beta 2
to
install. I loaded Vista pre RC1 and cannot get any of the 2007 Office
betas
to install. What I found interesting, Office 2003 won't install
either. I
had to go back to Office XP.

2007 Office System Beta 2 compatibility
If you are using 2007 Office system Beta 2 be sure to download the
2007
Microsoft Office system Beta 2 Technical Refresh, the most recent
update.
(The Technical Refresh is required to use Office Beta 2 with Windows
Vista
RC1.)

Here is the link for Office Refresh, however, it is currently not
available.
I am thinking that when they release Vista RC1 to the public, they
will also
release the Office update.

Hi,

Installed Office 12 Beta on a fresh installation of Vista (x86) RC1
Build
5600.
Installation suceeds but when I try to start any of the office apps
I get

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows
will notify
you if a solution is available." Only option is a "Close program"
button.

I've even tried starting them in XP Compatability mode but get the
same
error.

Office 2003 wors fine though

The fee is mainly there to help offset the use of bandwidth.

Official announcement is still that volume license customers will get it
this year and OEM/retail customers early next year. A leaked MS
announcement showed that the beta will end at the end of this month. So
you can expect RTM some time after that, but when it will be exactly
released is up to anyone's guess.
