Hi
Is anyone aware of any incompatibility between Exchange 2003 Server and Windows 98 client? Please let me know of that and if there is any remedy concerning that. Thank you. |

Hi,
I have migrated a client that used Office 97 (and Outlook 2000) on windows 95 clients without any problems. Problem with older Outlook clients are their lack of security features that are included in newer versions. What type of mail client are you using on the windows 98 plarform - this is the software talking to the exchange server. Leif "Mike Cello" wrote in message ... Thank you for your attention.
Using Exchange Server 2003 as the mail server and Outlook 2000 on Win 98 as client, I receive an error message titled "Microsoft Exchange" stating "The name could not be resolved. The operation failed." when I click on Check Name button. Is there anything that I am overlooking not abling me to connect to the Exchange server? I appreciate your expertise. Hi,
Yes, a mailbox is created on the server. As I mentioned, it works to access the user's mailbox from XP. What specific WINS configuration is needed? How can I test to see if WINS is properly working?
