It even has a "Category" current view which from what I can tell, is
absolutely worthless. |

What happens when you try? Anything?
You can reset the view by clicking View, Arrange By, Current View, Define Views. Select the By Category view and click the Reset button. It's possible your view has just become corrupted. -- Patricia DiGiacomo -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. "Alan Truism" wrote in message ups.com... It does not group the contacts by category, nor does it allow me to sort by category. If I try to sort by the category column I get a message that says "you cannot sort by this field." This happens for all of our users, not just me. |

You can't sort by category because an item in Outlook can have multiple categories. You can only group by category. And why have you included the alt.religion.dake-bonoism newsgroup in this post? -- Brian Tillman |

When I select the "By Category" radio button under current view for some reason it does not group the contacts by category. I was expecting it to do that. All it does it rearrange the column order. However if I go into the customize current view option, then select group by category there it works. I don't understand why that isn't enabled with the "by category" current view option but at least I can go in and do it manually. Thanks. |

Can you right click on the Category column and choose Group By?

ViewArrange By, selecting Show in Groups and Category groups by category. The Show in Groups item will group by whatever other item you have checked in that list. Sorry, but I cross post everything to alt.religion.dake-bonoism. "follow-up to" corrected Hmmm. Well, a) I find that peculiar and b) I have a small suspcion that most people in here don't sub to that group, and will get errors when they try to respond. Don't you want to see replies? Setting the follow-up to a group to which a lot of people will not have access, is a silly way to post in an MS technical support newsgroup, if you want to get help/replies. If you want to see the replies to your posts, read them in the appropriate groups. |
