Hi,
I have a distribution list of 14 people that I regularly send meeting requests to. Today I want to remove one person from the list. After selecting 'Add Others', picking the distribution list, and then expanding it to reveal all the names, I want to remove one of the people, but can find a way to do it. Other than adding the 13 names separtely, does anyone know how to do this? Thanks, Michele |

Aloha mjones,
Open the distribution list from the address book (probably your Contacts folder) that it exists in. Find the person you want to remove and remove them, then save the distribution list. -Ben- Ben M. Hi Ben,
Just to confirm then, there's no other way to do this other than removing the person (or persons if the case calls for it) from the distribution list. I'm checking because these people should remain on the list, but just in this case are not invited to the meeting. An example of when this would be used is if the person is on vacation or away on business (and you don't want their backup getting their messages to get the meeting request). I'm using it in this case for political reasons as the person may be removed from the team, but I don't have official notice yet. I suppose I could remove them from the distribution list without loosing the contact information and then add the contact back after I send the meeting request, but it seems a silly way to do it. Maybe 2007 handles this better. Thanks again, Michele Ben M. Schorr - MVP wrote: Aloha mjones, Open the distribution list from the address book (probably your Contacts folder) that it exists in. You never stated your version. Both Outlook 2003 and 2007 permit you to
expand the DL before you send to message so you can remove individual recipients on a one time basis. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "mjones" wrote in message ups.com... Hi Russ,
Well, this is where I'm stuck. I expand the DL, but I can't remove any attendees, except to select 'don't send meeting to this attendee' where you get the X on the envelope. Is this the proper way to do this? I guess so. Thanks, Michele P.S. - I'd be interested to know if you could bcc someone on a meeting request. ---------------- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote: You never stated your version. Again, we're lacking information here. It works fine with mail messages sent
to a DL stored in a PST file. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "mjones" wrote in message oups.com... Hi Russ, Well, this is where I'm stuck. With Outlook 2003, you add the DL to the recipient field and after it resolves, you click the plus sign to its left to expand it. You can then delete the address you don't want. -- Brian Tillman |
