Default FAX ISSUE

I set up a public folder in Microsoft Outlook 2003 for incoming fax. I
need to set up message alert to notify me when the fax comes in. I am
running a windows 2003 fax server and windows XP as client.

Either use the Folder Assistant or see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/notify.htm for third-party tools.

I doubt this is a fax issue. Rather you appear to have a question about how
to use rules in a Public Folder.
Windows XP Fax cannot even route faxes to Outlook.

You'll find it on the Properties dialog for the folder. It's pretty self-explanatory. In your scenario, you'd use it to forward the fax message to people who need to know.
