Default How do I hide the Windows Installer box?

Our tech person recently reinstalled Microsoft Office 2003. During the
process Microsoft was also updated. I am not haveing any trouble with
Outlook except a "Windows Installer" box appears constantly with a "preparing
to install" message. The only option is to cancel. How do you hide this
message box? It will pop up while working in other programs not just while I
am in Outlook.
