When I open Outlook I see a dialog box that says the specified folder cannot
be found. (refers to my business contact folder) I used the detect & repair in Outlook help to try to reinstall with no success. I have significant data that I do not want to lose so how do I go about repairing Outlook and saving my data? |

Hi Vince,
No, I haven't deleted any folders from the Outlook application. The Business Contact Manager folder shows up in the folder pane but the subfolders that should be associated with it are not there. I am also finding when I try to reply to an email received in Outlook I get a MS Office Word dialog box that says "unable to complete the operation. A fatal error has occured in Outlook." ??? Hi Vince,
It's hard to tell, when I click on the SQL icon I either get the server service manager dialog box or an error 6 message saying "the handle is invalid." I do not know that means in computerese or what to do with the server service manager dialog box. It is blank, but at the bottom it says "unkown - \\ - MSSQLServer" . When I mark the check box that says start server when OS starts I get the message " the filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect." It seems like the problem is starting to compound as now I am unable to reply to emails from Outlook. The end message is a fatal error has occurred in Outlook.
