I recently found that links in my email messages can not longer be
opened by clicking on them. The links are highlighted and underlined and when I move the cursor over them the arrow changes to a finger but when I click on it nothing seems to happen. I can click on links within IE6 and they work fine so it seems to be just Outlook. I did recently add a new rule for incoming mail but I can't say for certain if this corresponds with the change in being able to open links. I'm using OL98 with WinXP. I've quickly searched slipstick and this group but haven't found any tips yet. Any suggestions for me to try??? Thanks. John Keith |

A little more info:
After clicking on a link in an email message Outlook seems to lockup as I can't do anything else. The Task manager says it is running but I have to manually exit OL98 from task manager and restart it. And clicking on links from my newsreader work OK. Prior to your response I went back to a restore point from this weekend and the problem was fixed. I did undo the restore point to see if the problem would return so I could test your suggestion but the original problem did not reappear. Computers.....you have to love them! John Keith |
