I searched google and it mentioned !cid - but I couldn't find "what
exactly is happening?" I just got some spam from a neighbor that has gone to 100 or 150 people before me in maybe 6 to: groups. I usually just delete but this one was so convoluted I stopped my network, scanned with NAV etc and kept opening the email attachment to see how long it was. Eventually I got to a patriotic photo and some text. I right clicked on the photo (suspecting some spyware) to see its properties and it shows: !cid_007201c71d8b$d71dc2e0$1d96da18@jwhalen and I'm wondering - what does that mean ? When everyone opens it does it send something to jwhalen ? any online pinters Thanks |

That's simply an identifier generated by the email program that generated the message, an identifier used to distinguish that particular photo attachment so it can be referred to in the message body's HTML code.
