I have installed Outlook 2003 on a new computer. I have configured it
exactly as it was on the old computer, with one exception. I have changed the location of the pst file. When I click on Test Account Settings, everything looks good. It sounds out the test message. But I don't receive the test email on the new computer. If I turn the old computer on, the test messages show up there. So I know that the new computer is sending the messages created by the test. But with the old computer off, I do not receive any mail at all on the new computer. And nothing leaves the Outbox on the new computer. I don't see any error messages. The progress box opens and closes in a flash on the new computer when I click on Send/Receive. I don't see anything happening at all when I click on Tools...Send/Receive...Send All. I have rebooted and tried both "repairing" and re-installing Office 2003. I do notice an Office Installer message box flashes on the screen when I open Word, and Word takes about 12 seconds to open. Excel 2003 and Access 2003 open promptly. (Same behavior before and after repair and reinstallation efforts.) What could be wrong? Maybe some registry setting? New computer is XP Pro. Old computer is XP Home. |
