This *should* be an easy one..
A user wants an automated reply to be sent from the server ONLY when the sender is from within the company. I started with a blank rule that checks messages when they arrive. Check for the word MyCompanyName in the sender's address and have the server reply using a specific message. Unfortunately it doesn't reply as expected to internal emails.. If i choose "sender is in specified Address Book" and select the GAL, the rule will run only on the workstation where it was created (not good). If i choose "with specific words in the message header" and enter MyCompanyName, the automated reply is sent to ALL incoming emails since my company's name will show up somewhere in the header. The interesting thing is that if i use my original config but specify only external domains, it works as expected and only reply's to messages sent from those domains. There are no other rules or Out of Office configurations setup on this mailbox. The rule is being created from within Outlook 2k3 will all service packs and updates applied. I've tried creating it from different workstations and Outlook installations, but the results are always the same. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.. |
