Something really wacky just happened at this link
with Internet Explorer. I click on the mailto link below, a window pops up and tells me my mail client isn't configured properly. I click ok, and then about 30 IE windows rapidly open. It's a wonder the computer didn't lock up. My email client is Outlook 2003, and it has worked great. I've not experienced any problems. Just really strange. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... "busterbrown885" wrote in message ... I understand that ActiveSync 4.2 does not work with Windows Vista and I can not find a version that will work, has anybody had any experience with this or can someone provide a link to the download. I did see something on Microsoft website about a Beta download for RC1 (I have no idea what that is). I have purchased the Vista Premium version, any help would be appreciated. Many users report it doesn't always work very well. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx Windows Mobile Device Center (Beta 3 Release) |

I had a similar problem once with Opera Browser, clicking on a link within en email would open up loads of Opera tabs. |

The site loads fine, it's when I scroll down to that mailto link towards the bottom of the page, and then click it, a small window opens up, informs me my email client is not configured properly. I click OK, and then all those IE windows, not tabs, open up. -Michael |

This is similar to my question. I came here looking for anyone experiencing
rapid, uncontrolled creation of new instances of IE7. I suspect there is some condition that IE7 to enter a recursive loop. I have TWICE now had to let enough instances pile up that they compress to a group in the task bar, then right click to select 'Close Group' to put an end to the loop. Anyone else seen this? Is this a recognized IE7 issue? "MICHAEL" wrote: "Beck" beck@none wrote in message ... "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... Something really wacky just happened at this link with Internet Explorer. You need to fix your default mail program. Go to Default Programs and you
can do it there. steve "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... "Beck" beck@none wrote in message ... "MICHAEL" wrote in message ... Something really wacky just happened at this link with Internet Explorer. Steve,
That was one of the first things I looked at. Outlook has all its defaults. There's something else going on that would spawn 30 IE windows after clicking a mailto link on a website. -Michael "Steve Cochran" wrote in message ... You need to fix your default mail program. Also, I'm using Vista and "File Types" is no longer part of Folder Options. You do that now through Default Programs. -Michael |

Michael, if you're crossposting to other than a Vista-specific newsgroup (e.g., IE General, OL General), always state your Windows version in your first post, please. (Not everyone here may have noticed that you crossposted your original post to Vista General.) Thanks. -- ~PA Bear |
