Default problems exporting from outlook to excel

I just cleaned up my contacts list in outlook and did an export to excel.
When I open the excel file, I notice that I only have half of the entire
contacts in the excel file. I also noticed that in Phonelist View - i see
only half of the entire contact list (from A to J only) whereas in Address
Card View I see all of them. Is there a setting somewhere I do not know of?

Thanks
