i am accessing gmail(pop3/smtp) with outlook 2002 on my XP proff SP2. I have
two problems 1) I have setup such that my password is rememberd by outlook. so that i can send emails and receive them without entering any login info. But everytime i start outlook i dont get the emails from gmail. I have to explicitly say send/receive to receive email. How can i make it automatic so that whenever i start outlook i receive the email from gmail without saying send/receive.?? 2) If i dont ask outlook to remember my password. then everytime i send an email it goes to outbox. i have to then go to outbox and click the message then it asks for my login credentials. but i want outlook to ask for my credentials when i compose a message from an email link in an excell cell any help is appreciated |

hi, thanks for the tips. but my second part of the question was some thing
like this:: I have an excel sheet with email column, when i click the email address in that column, outlook compose box is opened using word editor. when i click send button from there it sends the message to outbox of oultlook and is closed without asking for credentials. It is here i want it to ask for some credentials rather than storing it in outbox. Because now in order to send the message i have to open outlook and either say send/receive or press f5 as u said. If somehow i could make it to ask for credentials when i press the send button in outlook compose box (which is opened using word editor) then everything is done in one shot otherwise i again need to open outlook and then press F5 or send/receive which will be an unneccessary extra step |

Outlook must be already open to send from another Office application. This is true for all versions of Office/Outlook.
