I'm having a problem with Outlook crashing. After many crashes I was
finally able to hone in and now can reproduce one at will. If I open a message reading window in Outlook and close it, then open the same message window again and close it...crash. Same thing with something on my calender. Open window, close. Open same, close. Crash. Doesn't matter whether I open/close the second time right away or later after doing other things, it will still crash, which makes it hard to avoid. Also happens after a cold boot with no other apps running. Error, app and system info below. I'm hoping this rings a bell and someone will post a suggestion. Thanks in advance for any assistance. ...jcole Error Signature --------------- AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 11.0.8118.0 AppStamp:456628bf ModName: outllib.dll ModVer: 11.0.8118.0 ModStamp:4566283d fDebug: 0 Offset: 000a96eb Outlook 2003 v11.8118.8107 SP2 Part of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 |

I would try using the DETECT and REPAIR option. You will find this
on the HELP menu in Outlook. Nikki Peterson "jcole" wrote in message oups.com... I'm having a problem with Outlook crashing. Someone e-mailed me privately and has identified the problem.
Unfortunately the hot fix referred to below did NOT fix it. Disabling the CRM add-in as described DOES keep Outlook from crashing, but then of course using CRM is unavailable. Anyone from Microsoft out there looking at this? If so suggestions would be appreciated. I was having the exact same problem as you as a client of ours. It seems it's a problem with the CRM client itself. In outlook, of you go into tools options other tab advanced options COM add-ins and de-select the CRM client. Then restart outlook it should resolve the issue. However this doesn't help much as CRM can't then track emails generated in outlook. Apparently Microsoft has released an updated version of the CRM client mainly for use with vista and office 2007 but also still works with previous office and windows versions. A hot fix for this problem is included in the new CRM client. I'm just downloading it now. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...=740e1b3b-11c3 -4 aef-b2e3-8309e0cf1bb0&DisplayLang=en#filelist here's a link to the MS KB article on the problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931270/en-us |
