Yes it is a right royal pain sometimes, just enter () before the contact and
that will not put in an area code. |

preceding the number with any character that is not normally used in phone
numbers works to bypass automatic formatting. This is any character except the dash, period, and space. if you dialing the #, if the area code /area code rules are configured it
